The Collingsworth Family is a southern gospel group started by Phil and Kim Collingsworth and features their family as the group. Their ministry and music tours have reached all over the United States as well as internationally. Excitement, family-emphasis and musical excellence are what you can expect when you come to The Collingsworth Family concert. Phil and Kim’s entire purpose is to give the talent God has loaned them back to their Creator as a sacrifice of praise.

“Unsealed: Life Triumphant!” Andrews University’s Easter Choral Concert Featuring Masterworks by Bach and Britten

The Andrews University Singers and Chorale invite the community to a special Easter Choral Concert on Saturday, April 4 at 8:30 p.m. in the Howard Performing Arts Center.  The concert will feature two profound and contrasting sacred works: “Christ lag in Todesbanden” by Johann Sebastian Bach, and “Rejoice in the Lamb” by Benjamin Britten.

This inspiring program explores themes of resurrection, joy, and spiritual reflection from Baroque, 20th-century, and 21^st-century musical voices.

Under the direction of Stephen Zork, this performance also serves as the graduate choral conducting recital of Jahaziel Gutierrez, marking an important milestone in his musical studies. Gutierrez will lead a chamber orchestra selected from the Andrews University Symphony Orchestra joined by organists Kenneth Logan and Brenton Offenbach. Community members are warmly encouraged to support Gutierrez and the university choirs in the student-led program that celebrates the Easter season with depth, beauty, and artistry.

Andrews University Singers

The Andrews University Singers is the select choir of the Department of Music and represents Andrews University locally, nationally and abroad through concert tours, television broadcast and audio recordings. They have given highly acclaimed international concert tours throughout the countries of Great Britain, Iceland, Norway, Brazil, Zimbabwe, Chile, South Africa, Bahamas, Bermuda and Puerto Rico.

Andrews University Symphony Orchestra

Conductor: Marc Élysée

The Andrews University Symphony Orchestra is the core ensemble of the orchestral program at Andrews University. In addition to their current series at the Howard Performing Arts Center, the Symphony Orchestra travels within the Great Lakes region as well as internationally. Since 2006, the orchestra has performed in Italy, Austria, Germany, France, the Philippines and Costa Rica.

A sought-after performer, master class clinician, adjudicator and lecturer, Dr. Dmitry Rachmanov is Chair of Keyboard Studies at California State University, Northridge.  A proponent of Russian repertoire, his April 2014 all-Scriabin program at Carnegie Hall was described as “a poem of ecstasy” in every sense. Rachmanov is a recipient of numerous awards, and a founding member and President of the Scriabin Society of America.

Watchmen Acappella is a faith-based vocal group whose sound reflects a blend of cultural influences rooted in African heritage and gospel tradition. Through live performances, the group seeks to encourage audiences and communicate their faith through music. Watchmen Acappella’s mission is to inspire hope, bridge cultural gaps, and create sustainable opportunities for those in need.

Stephen Zork Reunion Concert "How Can I Keep from Singing"

Stephen Zork is retiring after 35 remarkable years at Andrews University. He has been a beloved mentor, teacher and major professor to many. To help mark the conclusion of his extraordinary teaching career, a special weekend has been organized from April 24–25, 2026.

The highlight will be a Celebration Reunion Choir Concert, conducted by Mr. Zork, on Friday evening at the Howard Performing Arts Center. The reunion choir will also perform during second service at Pioneer Memorial Church.

If you’ve ever sung with Professor Zork during his 35-year tenure at Andrews, please plan to join the choir!

12:30 p.m.—Singers arrive and enjoy light refreshments and time to reconnect
2–5 p.m.—Rehearsal with Professor Zork
5–6 p.m.—Light supper provided (please stay on campus for call time)
6:30 p.m.—Choir call time
7:30 p.m.—Celebration Reunion Choir Concert

9 a.m.—Continental breakfast and fellowship
10–11 a.m.—Rehearsal for church service

Please note: The Celebration Choir will sing for the second service only.

Following the service, we hope to gather singers and their families for lunch (location TBD), followed by a time of shared stories, photos and reminiscing.
